Graffito was named a “house-doctor” for MassDevelopment’s Transformative Development Initiative in 2015 and worked with the agency in multiple Gateway Cities throughout Massachusetts until 2017. Graffito’s work ranged from state-wide workshops on retail development to more targeted place-making strategy work in New Bedford. Graffito’s deliverable for New Bedford became a model for TDI work in other Gateway Cities and helped establish a platform for the TDI Fellows and TDI Cowork initiatives.
