Openings! (Yes, Openings)

I woke up this morning to a lovely note from our friend Soham Bhatt, Artifact Cider Project’s Co-founder, notifying Dave and I that his team will be opening Artifact’s Cambridge Taproom this weekend in Central Square. On Tuesday Will Gilson and his team opened Cafe Beatrice, the first phase of his multi-concept restaurant project at Cambridge Crossing (the GSP team is headed there for lunch today). Earlier this month Earnest Drinks (from our pal Aaron Cohen of Gracie’s Ice Cream) opened its doors in Kendall Square.

It feels so damn good to be talking to folks about openings instead of closings.

These three projects have been years in the making for us. And despite the fact that closing are far outpacing openings these days, there are openings; and some great ones at that. The strength of our small business community perseveres even in the shadow of the pandemic. Exciting things are happening — bakeries, boozy milkshakes, and Greater Boston’s first cider taproom, just to name a few 😉
